the Japanese are very devout. They believe very strongly in a few things. One of them is consumerism and buying just the right trinket to prove that you were there and did that.

There's a mug for sale at New Seasons whose print is just a cascade of those waving kitties. In Japan, can you get tropical cocktails served in a ceramic waving kitty rather than a ceramic Buddah as in the US?
